You play as Alex Churchland, a failed martial artist and former garbage man, struggling to survive alongside his companion, Joel. Unlike the original series, this journey isn't about grand destinies; it’s a gritty, tactical exploration of futility in a world that has already ended. With its punishing combat and a constant, looming sense of despair, the game forces you to question if searching for sanctuary in a broken, violent landscape is a noble pursuit or just another exercise in vanity.
